Today, in the regional center of Transcarpathia, there was the logical conclusion of the environmental campaign "Return the waste paper – save a tree," initiated by the "Ukrainian Environmental League." In the "Parterre park" behind the RSA building they planted trees and shrubs (the purchase of which took more than 3,000 UAH). Those were the mammoth tree (it is considered one of the largest trees in the world), the chestnut, the tulip tree, the Ginkgo biloba, the Metasequoia, etc. Also such shrubs were planted as euonymus, Betterkap ivy…
According to the leader of the environmental campaign "Return the waste paper – save a tree" Olga Khymych, during the 2 stages of the campaign, they collected 8 tons 340 kg of waste paper worth 5,838 UAH.
Waste paper was provided by various financial institutions, students and teachers of UzhNU, preschools and schools of Uzhgorod…
Besides the plants, the money raised for the waste paper was spent on equipment (shovels, gloves, buckets…). According to Mrs. Olga, trees and shrubs will be planted at Hrushevsky street, 35 (there is a vacant corner there). Also they will plant a park in the pre-school number 29. The waste paper collection for this initiative is ongoing.
