Following Uzhgorod: now Mukachevo residents also have to pay 7 hryvnias for public transport

Private carriers of the city have been demanding to increase fares for public transport to 7 UAH since last year 

Today, March 3, there was a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Mukachevo City Council, where they adopted the decision "On approval of the tariff for the carriage of passengers by public buses", the press service of the Mukachevo City Council informed.

The new fare in the amount of 7 UAH is proposed to be introduced from March 5. Passenger transportation services in the city are provided by the Mukachevo Municipal Enterprise "Mukachivpastrans", "Pereviznyk-Mukachevo" LLC and nine individual entrepreneurs.

Due to unprofitability, carriers cannot ensure the proper quality of the buses’ technical condition, adherence to traffic schedules on routes and the safety of traffic, which in the future could lead to accidents. Raising the tariff by two hryvnia will at least allow them to break even. In turn, the authorities require carriers to provide proper conditions for the carriage of passengers in public transport and equip the buses with special GPS trackers.

The new tariff for passenger transportation services were set in accordance with the requirements of the Methodology for calculating tariffs for passenger road transport services.

The discussion of the draft decision "On approval of the tariff for carriage of passengers by public buses in Mukachevo" took place in February. The project was published for review and discussion during 30 days.
