Floods in the basins of the Dniester and the Danube are predicted for the end of June. Meanwhile, representatives of the Statef Emergencies Service assure that no significant threat should be expected, because currently they are working to prevent flooding, the Radio Svoboda reported.
Settlements in the Danube basin expect floods from June 20. According to prognosis of the State Emergencies Service, the water level in the river could rise up to 2 meters. It may happen due to short-lasting rain, which will occur there over the next two weeks.
In addition, the water, which is currently moving from Europe, where it has been raining for a long time, may impose a threat. The maximum flood level – 1,018 meters – is now observed in the Slovak capital Bratislava.
Meanwhile, in the Dnieper basin, the bulk of water from Russia and Belarus, according to them, has already passed, so no problems are expected.
However, Rivne and Volyn regions are still overcoming the effects of spring flood.
As for the rivers of Transcarpathia, the water level here may soon rise due to short-term showers. However, the threat will be low.
