Five Transcarpathians visited the U.S. within “Open World” program

Recently five Transcarpathians who work in education, returned from a study tour to the U.S., where they visited the city of Washington and Wichita (Kansas). According to the participant of the program "Open World", Uzhgorod City Council member, member of the Standing Committee on Education Yaroslava Hasynets, the topic of the trip was education and innovations. 
The delegation from Transcarpathia also included Doctor of Law, Professor of the Business Law Department of UzhNU Mykola Sidak, lecturer of the journalism department of UzhNU Ivan Babushchak, vice rector of TSU Olena Melnik and coordinator of OPORA in Transcarpathia Sviatoslav Babilya. Transcarpathians were received in America by the "Rotary Club of West Wichita", whose members planned the program so as to cover the range of professional interests of each of the delegates, introduce their home state of Kansas and the city of Wichita, famous for its well-developed aviation, and also give an opportunity to experience the lives of ordinary American families.
The program of our countrymen stay in Wichita was very rich and interesting. Yaroslava Hasynets said that within a week they visited dozens of kindergartens, schools, colleges, universities, where they studied all levels of the U.S. education system. "We were interested in everything from modern teaching methods to financing of education establishments" – the city deputy shared her impressions. 
– I, as a member of the Standing Committee on Education of Uzhgorod City Council, based on the invaluable experience gained on the trip, would like to introduce some of the approaches and methods of the U.S. education system, to develop and implement pilot projects, some elements of innovative technologies in model schools of the city to improve the level of education. 
  
It is also worth to mention visits to the school of Hartspring, where children with special needs study, extracurricular development club for boys and girls, the organization "Young Businessmen", which teaches students business in some municipal and private schools for free and the Center for Leadership Development of Kansas."
The delegation also visited the museum of history of American Indians, the Museum of World Treasures and major aircraft building company "Cessna".
