Yesterday, October 5, the police received a report about an accident in the village of Kotelnytsia in Volovets district. The driver of a "Nissan Primastar" lost control and drove off the road into the ditch. At the time of the accident, there were 10 passengers in the vehicle, including seven children.
The investigating team, that arrived at the scene of the accident, found out that a 32-year-old resident of the village of Kalyny, moving from Lviv to Tyachev, because of a bad weather, lost control of the vehicle and drove off the road into the ditch. As a result of the traffic accident, five children were injured and taken to Volovets Central Hospital.
Law enforcement officers initiated an investigation over the accident. At present, criminal proceeding has been opened under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of rules of road safety or operation of transport by a person driving a vehicle that caused injuries of medium severty).
The driver of the vehicle was tested for alcohol content in the blood. He was sober.
The vehicle was taken to the impound lot.
