Fishing in Uzhgorod is prohibited, with the exception of a few locations

Warning signs "Fishing is prohibited!" were put up yesterday in Uzhgorod along the Uzh river.

The signs were placed on the slopes of the Uzh – near the Linguistic Gymnasium, the secondary schools № 3, 5, 11, near the suspension bridge in the Bozdosh Park, the Kirpichka Lake, the so-called Black Lakes, the Radvanka quarry.

The spawning ban on fishing was launched in Ukraine. In accordance with the regulations, during the fish spawning, industrial and amateur fishing, organization of fishing competitions, underwater hunting, use of water crafts (boats), dredging, explosive and other types of work, extraction of building materials (sand and gravel mixture), clearing of river channels, shore consolidation, etc. shall be prohibited.

Only amateur fishing outside the spawning range is allowed with only one float or bottom fishing rod with one hook and spinning from the shore within the limits of the settlement in designated places.

In general, fishing within the limits of the coastal protective strip is prohibited, – the department of municipal economy of Uzhgorod city council informs.

List of places near Uzhgorod where fishing on the Uzh river is allowed:

– from the suspension bridge in the village of Kamyanytsia upstream to the motor transport bridge in Perechyn;
– from the motor transport bridge of the Uzhgorod bypass road upstream to the pedestrian bridge in the village of Orikhovytsia;
– from the suspension bridge on the border with Slovakia upstream to the transport bridge on Bobyak street in Uzhgorod.
