The house of the former head of Transcarpathian police was shelled with a hand grenade launcher, the Mukachevo.net informs. The video of the fire was posted in social network by journalist Vitaliy Glagola.
According to preliminary information from the sources in law enforcement, there were two shots. They hit the roof of the house.
At the scene, near the house of Vasyl Vartsaba, on Koshytska Street, they found 2 "tubes" from hand grenade launchers. This information was confirmed by patrol policemen, who arrived at the scene. They added, that at the time of the attack, there were two people in the house, probably, the Vartsaba spouses.
The shots caused the fire on the roof, which was recorded on video.
Currently, the area around the house is cordoned off by the police, dog handlers are working at the scene.
Vasyl Vartsaba headed Transcarpathian police in 2003-2004, when he was involved in the controversial election of the mayor of Mukachevo. In 2010, Vartsaba was appointed as the head of the police in Ivano-Frankivsk region.And in 2012, he became the head of Transcarpathian police again.
