Today, the results of the contest for preliminary designs of the comprehensive improvement of the pedestrian zone of the historic Uzhgorod and adjacent areas became known" – the site "7 dniv" reported.
They write: it is interesting that none of Uzhgorod architects took part in the competition. The Commission assessed three submitted projects – two authors from Lviv, and one from Transcarpathia – the village of Solotvyno in Tyachiv district. They will share the prize pool – 45,000 UAH. The Competition Commission has determined the winner. His name was announced by the acting chief architect of Uzhgorod Leonid Samsonov.
So, Teatralna Square in Uzhgorod will be reconstructed according to the design by Lviv architect Roman Danylevych – his design won the competition.
According to "7 dniv", Roman Danylevych, who "learned about the contest from a fellow classmate who lives in Uzhgorod," prepared the draft design within about two weeks.
Also they inform, the Competition Commission had a few comments to the winner’s project that should be taken into account during the finalizing. And the said site promises to publish the proposed design of the winner soon.
