Festival of Contemporary Sacred Music has started in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

Yesteday, in the evening, a concert of the famous "Cantus" chamber choir took place in the Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum in Uzhgorod. The event was held within the framework of the Festival of Contemporary Sacred Music, which is taking place these days in the regional center.

 This year, the festival of sacred music in Uzhgorod will last for 4 days and will bring together many well-known musicians from different cities of Ukraine. The festival is organized by the academic chamber choir "Cantus" with the assistance of the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and the Department of Culture, Sports, Family and Youth of Uzhgorod City Council.

The festival began with a concert of the chamber choir "Cantus" under the direction of Emil Sokach. During the concert, the musicians performed works by both foreign and Ukrainian composers. 

The program featured music by British composer John Tavener and Ukrainian authors Hanna Havrylets and Bohdana Froliak. 

By the way, the Festival of Contemporary Sacred Music continues, so you have the opportunity to attend the next concerts. Already today, April 30, a concert of the famous Ukrainian pianist, Professor Jozef Hermine, will take place in the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic. The program will feature pieces by Valentin Silvestrov, Franz Schubert and Chopin.
