Yesterday, at the session of the new Uzhgorod District Council of the VII convocation, there was the voting on the nominees for the post of the District Council Chairman.
Representatives of the ruling party – "Bloc of Petro Poroshenko "Solidarnist" – together with the party "Vidrodzhennya" and the "Opposition bloc", with the support of the deputies from the Radical Party, nominated a common candidate – former head of Uzhgorod District State Administration, a former Party of Regions member Ruslan Chornak – the Zakarpattya online writes.
Instead, the KMKS (Party of Hungarians of Ukraine), the "United Center" and the "Batkivshchyna" supported the candidacy of the chairman of Uzhgorod District Council of the VI convocation Mykhailo Fedynets.
As a result, none of the candidates received the required number of votes: 17 deputies voted for R.Chornak, 16 – for M.Fedynets, 3 ballots were invalid.
Since the session is not closed, the next voting will take place at the next meeting.
Overall, this Uzhgorod district council has 36 deputies. Of those, the "Vidrodzhennya" has 6 seats, "BPP "Solidarnist" – 5, the Opposition bloc – 4, and the Radical Party – 4.
The KMKS has 8 seats, the "United Center" – 7, the "Batkivshchyna" – 2.
