Today in Uzhgorod, two exhibitions opened in one exhibition area – of a coryphaeus, People’s Artist of Ukraine Fedir Manaylo and contemporary representatives of fine arts of Transcarpathia – People’s Artist of Ukraine Ivan Brovdi and Honored Artist of Ukraine Larysa Brovdi.
Both exhibitions are unusual. The first one presents little known works of one of the most famous representatives of the Transcarpathian school of painting. The selection consists of the exhibits of Fedir Manaylo Memorial Museum House and Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum. Most works depict monuments of wooden architecture of the region and show the master’s deep understanding of the origins of folk art and love of its aesthetics.
The second exhibition presents the works of the artist couple of Brovdi. As noted at the opening by Ivan Brovdi, being exhibited next to Fedir Manaylo selection is very honorable for them. "He is our teacher and friend. I will always remember his words: "You must create an image." Indeed, you can learn perfect technique of artwork creation, but true art always comes from the heart, it is filled with soul and fills the soul."
The current exhibition will last for two weeks. After that, visitors will be able to see canvas of the Honored Artist of Ukraine Vladyslav Gabda.
