Despite not quite "sporty" weather, about a thousand fans gathered at the stadium "Avtomobilist" in Uzhgorod. Of course! The winner of gold medals of the regional football championship in the Premier League was decided there. It so happened that the FC "Uzhgorod" and a representative of Beregovo district – FC "Dyida" – played in the last round of the competition Before the decisive match, the teams had 47 and 45 points respectively. In case of winning, the guests would become the champions, and a draw or victory would make "Uzhgorod" the champions. 

Before the match in the regional center, the teams, as expected, were warming up, some rival players were even talking to each other. But once the game began, a real battle of characters started. The home team took the initiative and had a lot of goal chances during the first half, but scored only at the beginning of the match, when Robert Hehedosh made a superb free kick.

In the second half. the Uzhgorod team kept the same pace. As a result, the best scorer of the championship Ivan Zharenko made a double. The guests tried hard, but it was not their day. After three conceded goals, any chances of success were gone. In turn, the victory of the FC "Uzhgorod" is valuable because the last time the team from the regional center became the champion of the region was back in 1975 (then it was "Radvanka"), that is… 40 years ago! One can only congratulate the players, the coaching staff, the president of the club Andriy Andriyiv, the chairman of the board of the presidents of football clubs of Uzhgorod, the vice president of the FC "Uzhgorod" Bogdan Andriyiv, who did good job this year, and won the first major sports victory on the renovated stadium "Avangard" – the Uzhgorod.net.ua writes.
