Favourable digital technologies transmitted into political scores

Before the election, some political forces in pursuit for their ratings are using even state benefits programs. Thus, in Makijivka in Donetsk region digital TV tuners, which are provided by the state to certain categories of citizens at the expense of taxpayers, were handed to people on behalf of the Party of Regions.

Vulnerable Transcarpathians are currently receiving digital TV tuners or set-top boxes needed for the transition to digital television without any "bonus from the political party". As you know, Ukraine is gradually moving to digital television broadcasting.

In general, through the digital package 32 channels – 28 national and 4 regional will be available on TV. Digital signal standard DVB-T2 will be coded, so no on-air broadcasting can be watched without these special TV tuners.

Just a reminder: on March 21 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine signed a resolution on "Approval of the funds use procedure included into the state budget for the provision of people with means for receiving digital broadcasting signals." According to the resolution, TV tuners for digital broadcasting signals will be provided to socially vulnerable citizens for free.

In our region a network of on-air broadcasting digital television transmitters was deployed in quite a short time . Slovak and Hungarian digital TV channels were the first in the region to transfer to digital broadcasting. On January 1, Transcarpathian Regional State TV and radio broadcasting station Tysa-1 also joined that group.

We would like to remind that according to the law, the following groups of citizens are entitled to take the benefit from the state and get the device: disabled of I and II groups, and disabled veterans of group III, the persons taking care of a disabled child if the child lives with them and is completely supported by the state, persons with low income families who receive state social assistance according to the Law of Ukraine "On state social assistance to needy families," the persons entitled to receive subsidies for cost recovery for housing and utilities costs during the heating period 2011-2012 years.
