At night, on September 11, the police received a report from an ambulance operator. It was about an accident in the village of Syurte in Uzhgorod district.
The investigation team, which arrived at the scene of the accident, established its circumstances. As the investigators found out, a 32-year-old resident of Chop driving a car Volkswagen LT had hit a 46-year-old resident of the village of Rativtsi, walking on the roadway.
As a result of the accident, the pedestrian died on the spot. According to the results of the medical examination, the driver was sober. The police has started investigation over this incident. A criminal proceeding under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules, which caused the death of the victim) has been opened.
