"NG is finally opening its business after two years of planning, building, developing and ensuring consistent crop quality," – the report says.

Only organic components are used to grow mushrooms.

The mushrooms are planned to be sold both locally and internationally.

In addition to shiitake, the farm also plans to grow pom pom, shimaji, ering and other exotic mushrooms.

The farm is going to produce more than 200 tonnes of high quality shiitake every month and create jobs, – NG Chief Sales Officer Peter Sutherland added.

To note:
Shiitake is a well-studied medicinal mushroom, in Asia it is called "Imperial mushroom" for its outstanding medicinal properties.

For thousands of years, Shiitake has been known in Japan and China as a product of nutritional and medicinal value.

The product is an active immunomodulator that builds an antiviral barrier in the body, it inhibits the growth of pathogenic microflora, protects against inflammatory processes, restores blood composition, heals ulcers and erosion in the intestines and gastrointestinal tract. Shiitake cleanses the body of cholesterol, stabilizes metabolic processes, lowers glucose. The latter property makes it a useful food for diabetics.
