Executive Committee in Uzhgorod has not yet made a decision on bus fare rise

Today, December 13, some Transcarpathian sites reported that the executive committee of Uzhgorod City Council had voted to increase fares in urban bus to 2.30 UAH. And that this decision would come into effect on February 1, 2013.

As members of the executive committee have not confirmed the adoption of such a decision, uzhgorod.in turned for comment to the deputy mayor of Uzhgorod Yuri Belyakov. He explained that the draft decision of the executive committee has actually been posted on the official website of Uzhgorod City Council, but it is there for public discussion. The decision to increase bus fares within Uzhgorod was adopted only by the committee to improve the system of price controls and tariffs. Now this decision is undergoing the so-called public discussion (so called because on the site of Uzhgorod City Council this information is entitled "Regulatory Impact Analysis" and does not call to discuss the growing cost of travel in the bus).

According to Yuri Belyakov, after the discussion the committee will meet again. And then (most likely in early February), the draft decision will be put to vote by members of the executive committee.
