Everyone plays draughts but there is little support (PHOTOS)

Regional draughts tournament will be held in Vynogradiv.  Participants of the intellectual game represented not only Vynohradiv district, but also guests from Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Tyachiv, Khust, Irshava, Volovets.
Mykhailo Rishko – Chairman of the Regional Federation of Draughts:
– Unfortunately, the situation is not favorable for the development of draughts in Transcarpathia.  We are numerically small, we are not an Olympic sport and we are usually financed on the residual principle. Often I find it uncomfortable when I approach patrons asking for financial support, and they simply turn their backs on me. It’s a shame. Nevertheless, we hold competitions and have good success.
Thus, among 20 adults, the oldest member of the regional draughts tournament was 80-year-old Victor Turtayev from Uzhgorod. The competition was also attended by the young star – 18-year-old Sylvia Markovtsi from Irshava – champion of Europe and Ukraine.Thus, according to the results of competitions 1st place was taken by Mykhailo Rishko (Uzhgorod), 2nd – by Grygoriy Plavayko (Mukachevo), 3rd – by Oleksandr Kurt (Khust).  
Among children champions were: 1st place – Stepan Scobley (Irshava, 12 years), Mykhailo Nikitin (Irshava, 11 years), Mark Hychko (Vinogradiv, 15 years).
