On May 20, an official reception and cultural charity event – "European Spring" ball – was held for the first time in the atrium of the main administrative building of Transcarpathia.
The event was organized by the Department of Culture of the RSA with the support of the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal.
The best examples of European classical music were performed by the symphony orchestra of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic Society, the Academic Chamber Choir "Cantus", known soloists Mariana Havrylko Miroslava Shvakh-Pekar. Dance section of the concert was presented by choreographer students of Uzhgorod College of Culture and Arts and students of the dance sport club "Hratsiya".
The magician Cardini added some mystery to the concert. The ball culminated into a spectacular performance of the "Pap Jazz Quartet" with the participation of a jazz singer, finalist of the show "The Voice" Vilen Arustam.
The highlight of the event was an art auction featuring 25 works of pupils of the Vilshany orphanage. Almost all lots rose in prices from the initial 200 UAH up to 3000 UAH.
The sum that was raised through charitable donations of the visitors at the auction and the campaign "A photo to remember" (in the special photozone) will be announced immediately after counting on Monday. All the funds will be used for the needs of the Vilshany orphanage.
Given the fact that both goals – the revival of European traditions in the historic building, and support for charity – were achieved, the organizers expressed their intention to make the "European Spring" a traditional event, – the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration informs.
