Euromaidan became a studio for a Transcarpathian artist

Synevyr artist Vasyl Shyndra – the head of the public association of the Union of Artists "Carpathian Colors" – at the behest of the heart also visited Kyiv during violent confrontations between protesters and the dictatorial regime of Yanukovych. As well as his son, Yevhen – a resident of the capital, the head of the youth cell "Transcarpathians in Kyiv." After the clashes were over, the father went to the capital of the country again. This time he took an easel and arranged a plein air on the Maidan.

Every day, on the square, where a just few weeks ago, noise grenades were exploding and sniper shots were heard, Mr. Vasyl depicts on his canvases an indomitable heroic spirit of his people. He planned to stay there for just a week, but then he decided to stay longer because, as he said, there are so many interesting stories for painting, in particular on Hrushevsky, Institutska streets, where the Heaven’s Hundred were killed.
