For four years in a row, the City Council in cooperation with the House of Children’s Creativity has held the festival of Easter eggs "Roll, Easter egg, across the native land." Each year, it results in the Easter tree with hundreds of Easter eggs made in different techniques.
This year, the organizers decided to make some changes, Liana Demchik of Irshava City Council says, and combine efforts to popularize the best traditions of Easter eggs making, reveal and display talents of the younger generation. So, they decided to organize a large-scale festival called "Easter egg of native Irshava district", which aims to bring together nearly two hundred participants.
Currently, the date of the event is unknown, but traditionally it has been held in the last week of Lent.
We already know that pupils of children’s art schools of the district will be working at the District House of Culture, where, in addition to individual works, they will be painting a large Easter egg, which this year was made by the artistic director of Irshava District House of Culture Ivan Kotubey.
Members of children’s art clubs and the center for young technicians will be painting Easter eggs in the administrative building of the District House of Children’s Creativity.
Mrs. Demchik said that the final chord of the festival would be the exhibition and sale on the central square of Irshava and a master class from the best artists and their students.
The organizers plan to show the townspeople and visitors of the district center two Easter trees and the largest Easter eggs of the district. This year there will be two of them.
One was made on the initiative of the City Council back in 2014, teachers of the center for young technicians have already started working on it. The other one was made by already mentioned Ivan Kotubey. It will be painted by students and teachers of eight children’s art schools in the district.
