Yesterday, January 25, 2016, in the course of activities to counter illicit trafficking of excisable goods under the Operation "Excise 2016" and operative-investigative activities, officers of the tax police and the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region conducted searches in the village of Nevetlenfolu on Ukrainian-Romanian border.
As a result of three searches in private households, they found and seized domestically made tobacco production worth about 620,000 UAH.
The cigarettes were prepared for smuggling across the state border of Ukraine.
Investigation activities aimed at establishing a range of people involved in the organization of the tobacco product smuggling channel are being conducted.
