During six months, 16 people in the region have died in the water

Since the beginning of the year, 16 people, including 2 children, have died at the water bodies of the region. This was discussed at the meeting of the regional State Emergencies Service Office.

The analysis shows that the main cause of death is resting in unsuitable places; neglecting basic rules of behavior on the water and swimming while being intoxicated.

"One of the specific disadvantages is the lack of seasonal rescue stations, as well as failure of lifeguards at available rescue stations to undergo annual training (retraining). Currently, only 13 places of mass recreation is registered in the region", – the head of the office Miroslav Shcherbey said.
