During a week, 45 cases of electricity theft were exposed in Transcarpathia

The "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC informs that in the period from 4 to 8 of April, the Company’s employees revealed 45 facts of electricity theft.

In particular, 37 reports of violation were drawn up against household consumers and 8 reports – against legal entities (private entrepreneurs, companies, firms, etc.).

The most cases of illegal interference in the power grid by household consumers over the past week were found in Tyachiv district (10 violations). Most often, electricity was illegally consumed through damaging and removal of seals on metering devices (12 cases). Another frequent violation during this period was unauthorized connection via electric meter, damaging of meters and other actions that change meter readings.

In the legal sector (private entrepreneurs, companies, firms, etc.) facts of thefts were detected in 5 districts. Thus, in each of Vynogradiv, Rakhiv district and the city of Uzhgorod, 2 cases of electricity theft were found. The most popular violation was damaging and removal of energy supplier’s seals or damaging of alternating magnetic field impact indicators.

Also during the last week, Committees to review reports of violation imposed fines totaling UAH 279.6 thousand, of which:

– Among households – for 141.69 UAH

– Among legal entities – for 138.27 UAH.
