During a joint patrol, border guards ofUkraine and Hungary detained six illegal immigrants

Yesterday, on the border with Hungary, 6 natives of Southeast Asia were detained. They were stopped by border guards of Ukraine and Hungary, who were carrying out a joint inspection of the state border.

First, border guards found footsteps of the offenders which were leading to the border and soon stopped the travelers themselves. They had no IDs. Among the detainees, there were 4 men and 2 women.

Note that yesterday, in Transcarpathia, Ukrainian border gurads conducted 3 joint inspections of the border with their colleagues from neighboring countries.

Also recall that the number of illegal migrants detained by border guard units last year fell by 10% (2012 – 2182 illegal migrants, 2013 – 1965). Of those, the number of people detained for illegally crossing the border decreased by 16% (2012 – 1120, 2013 – 944). The majority of illegal immigrants were detained at the border with the Republic of Moldova (31% of all detained illegal migrants), at the air crossing points (20%), Slovak Republic (19%), Russia (15%), Poland (5% ), Romania (3%), Hungary (3%).
