The Dog Training Center of the Regional Dog Training Service of the National Police Office in Transcarpathian region celebrated the Day of Dog Training Service.
Transcarpathian Dog Training Center was established on April 2, 1994. On the birthday of the Centre, it was open for anyone, but most of the visitors were, of course, children. Visitors were taken on a tour of the Center, told about the everyday life of dog handlers and dogs, watched a demonstration search of drugs and detention of the offender.
Dogs have different characters: some shyly hide from visitors, while others are playful and even allow to pat themselves.
– Now, 26 dogs are trained in the Dog Training Center, each animal has an individual trainer, – the head of the Dog Training Center of the National Police Office in Transcarpathian region Oleksandr Lazar says. – In Mukachevo, there is also a branch of the Dog Training Center. By the way, we are preparing for the nationwide dog training championship to be held in September
.Experts say that in recent years, workload on the dog handlers has significantly increased. This is primarily due to the fact that, pursuant to the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, units for convoy, extradition and protection of defendants have begun to additionally serve 39 local courts throughout the country. Also, dogs, and hence dog handlers are regularly engaged to reinforce judicial guards. So, it is difficult to imagine any combat mission without dogs now.
