Do your job – what IDPs do in Uzhgorod

The couple of 36-year-old Natalia and Radmir Shkreds were one of the first to come to Uzhgorod. The IDPs, who had lived the past three years in Sevastopol, were going to nowhere, basically blindly putting a finger on the map of Ukraine.

This is what they told to the newspaper Nedilya, sharing first impressions, prolonged depression, and the new, important business, which they have launched in Transcarpathia.

It is a club mainly for children 2 to 12 years old. "We want to attract teenagers too, because they are often glued to computer screen. We want to get them involved in creative activities. To dothis, we opened the animation studio. – Natalia says. – In addition, in the club, there are different groups for children, home theater, science school, where we will be experimenting, excitingmathematics. I want these lessons, through games and stories, to help kids love this subject because it ​​is cool and interesting."

The couple came to Transcarpathia in February, when pro-Russian sentiments in Crimea became threatening. The option of receiving a Russian passport was not even considered, "No, we did not consider it. I could have received a Russian passport long ago (she was born in Yakutia, her father was born in Western Ukraine, grandparents come from Kherson region – Ed.), but no… It is not an option, for us."

Now the couple, together with like-minded Transcarpathians is actively caring about the Children’s Center, because they think that one should not be sad, but just do their job. If you do some good work, it will be good for the whole the country!
