“Diary of a young Roma traveler” will be presented in Uzhgorod (ANNOUNCEMENT)

On Thursday, April 19, at 5:00 pm, in Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library, there will be the presentation of a book by Mykola Burmek-Dyuri "Diary of a young Roma traveler".

The proposed publication gives the reader a unique opportunity to see our familiar world through the eyes of the young Roma writer Mykola Burmek-Dyuri. The Gypsy eye is sharp and far-seeing like a laser beam. We usually have guesses about it, but we do not know much about it. The world of the Roma is still distant, separated by the traditions of originality, or rather otherness of the unique Roma culture, which is physically close – we meet representatives of this nation every day and everywhere on the streets of Transcarpathian cities.

   The feature of Mykola Burmek-Dyuri’s prose is that it comes not from books, but exclusively from the traditions of Romani culture, the Romani life outlook.

This is a literature that will find its reader.
