Diagnosis with the modern tomographic scanner is now available for Transcarpathians (PHOTOS)

On Thursday, July 19, a computer tomographic scanner, designed for the diagnosis and planning of high-quality radiation therapy, was launched in the Regional Clinical Oncology Center. The celebration on this occasion was attended by the Acting Chairman of Regional State Administration Ivan Buschko, Deputy Head of the region Anton Gromovoy, First Deputy Chairman of the regional council Vladimir Zakureny, the chief physician of the regional oncologic dispensary Andrey Rusin, the head of the project "Cancer is curable" Victoria Mykolayuk.

New modern equipment for the Oncology Center has been funded by Rinat Akhmetov within his fund "Development of Ukraine" in the framework of the project "Cancer is curable." Modern medical tomography will become of great use for Transcarpathian doctors to perform qualitative diagnostic tests, in particular, it will allow diagnose primary tumors, clarify the stage of the disease, assess the effectiveness of treatment. Diagnosis will be free – this is one of the conditions for granting the equipment to the regional dispensary. The scanner was made in 2012, it costs 5.9 million hryvnia.

From now on modern diagnostics with the computer tomography is available to patients of the regional hospital, as well as patients of other hospitals that have the appropriate appointment card – the press center of State Administration informs.
