Detention in Transcarpathia: the attacker threatened an 85-year-old pensioner with a knife (PHOTOS)

Today, July 3, at 8.24 am, the police received a report of a robbery in the city of Tyachiv. 
The 85-year-old victim reported that at midnight an unknown man broke into her home, he had a black mask on his face and a knife, which he threatened the pensioner with. The criminal stole gold jewelry, alcoholic beverages and money, after which he fled in an unknown direction. 
The woman called the police in the morning. Within a few hours, the police detained the person involved in the crime – a 31 -year-old, previously repeatedly convicted resident of the district center. The man knew very well that the pensioner was in the house alone, that’s why he dared to rob the woman like that. Fortunately, the victim was not injured and is feeling well. 
The robber was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention center. Investigators accuse him of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ie robbery combined with breaking and entering. According to the sanction of the specified article, the detainee faces up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. The case is under pre-trial investigation.
