Details of the fire on Narodna Square in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

As we reported, today, December 14, at 14.15, the Rescue Service received a report of a fire in the building of the Transcarpathian Regional Council of Trade Unions on Narodna Square.

Two fire trucks and a team of firefighters was sent at the scene.

As it turned out, the fire had started in the basement of the administrative building, cardboard boxes, that were stored there, had caught fire.

Already at 14.45, the fire was eliminated.

According to the spokeswoman of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region Natalia Batyr, 14 people were evacuated from the building, nobody was injured.

Now, rescuers are pouring water on the remnants of the boxes to prevent re-ignition and to eliminate smoke.

The cause of the fire is to be found out by the special commission.
