In Ukraine soon a new product "line" – milk-containing products – may appear.
November 6 the Parliament introduced to the agenda a bill on amendments to the law "On nilk and dairy products," wrote the "Delo".
According to the document, the concept of "milk-containing products" shall be introduced for all products that utilize artificial milk substitutes or components (such as fat, lactose), regardless of dosage.
The bill provides for mandatory labeling of such product, and the size of the font, which the information about the presence of milk substitutes in the product is printed on the packaging in, shall be 80% of the size of the largest label on the package.
Experts of "Ukrmetrteststandart" name a number of supplements that they can detect in finished dairy products during laboratory tests: from palm oil and other vegetable oils to antibiotics that are added to extend shelf life.
