Deputies support the initiative to ban travelling zoos

Famous Transcarpathian TV presenter Oleksandr Meryavchik registered on the site of the Uzhgorod City Council a petition to ban travelling zoos and circuses using animals

The idea of the petition:

To prohibit touring, performances, promotions and other activities involving animals on the territory of the city of Uzhgorod;

To prohibit travelling zoos on the territory of the city of Uzhgorod.

And, according to a deputy of Uzhgorod City Council Mykola Syusko, the draft of the corresponding decision is already being prepared: "We are already working on a draft decision, which will be submitted for consideration of the deputies. We live in the 21st century and we have to show that we are against the exploitation of wild animals in circuses!!!" – he wrote in a post on his Facebook page.
