Deputies allowed to arrange holidays in the city center. But quietly

As we reported, at today’s meeting of the executive committee they proposed the issue of restricting public events in the city center.

The draft decision proposed to restrict the gala concerts, discos, and mass entertainment on Teatralna Square, Korzo and Voloshin streets. The reason is the excessive noise the residents complain about.

After the discussion, when, in particular, member of the City Council Shchadey said that it could be viewed as hidering the activity of NGOs, they made a compromise solution. They decided that restriction should only apply to gala concerts and excluded from the list words "mass entertainment", but retained the requirement of not exceeding the noise standards. therefore, concerts and other celebrations on Teatralna must be quiet.

However the organizers of the celebration of the Real Day of the City consider this decision to ban concerts on Teatralna square a "thanksgiving" to the community for the holiday which they gave Uzhgorod residents. And they complain that the holiday on October 6, thus, was the last concert on Teatralna square. By the way, all further concerts are allowed only by special order of the mayor.
