August 20, in the village of Veluki Luchky in Mukachevo district there was early election of the head of Roma settlement. In addition to the current baron Karen Horvath, another three candidates were nominated: Anatoliy Horvath, Mykola Lakatosh and Yaroslav Russo.
As the results of the vote showed, the early election was appointed for good reason: Karen Horvath did not receive a single vote. In general, out of nearly two hundred Roma who came to vote, ballots were given to only 137 people. More than sixty people were unable to vote due to lack of documents certifying the identity of the voter.
Thus, as shown by the vote count, 7 ballots were invalid, Yaroslav Russo had support of 6 voters, and Anatoliy Horvat received 49 votes of the residents of Veluki Luchky. The winner, and thus the next head of the Roma settlement, with 75 votes was Mykola Lakatosh.
The public order in the settlement during elections was ensured by local policeman. Also there were representatives of the local media, including television, independent observers and lawyers of "Mukachevo Rights Protection Center".
