Decentralization reform and judicial reform: when Transcarpathians can expect changes

89% of residents of Transcarpathia noted the prevalence of corruption among judges.

Instead, about 1% of respondents trust courts.

Making appropriate changes to the Constitution will make it possible to change the situation.

On Thursday, April 21, at 12.00 in Uzhgorod Press Club,

there will be a press conference within the information campaign "#Constitution", during which experts of the Center for Political and Legal Reforms will talk about the progress of the constitutional process in terms of judicial reform and decentralization. The results of a recent survey on attitudes of Transcarpathians to the judiciary and their vision of the reform of the justice system will be presented at the press conference.

Experts will talk about the changes that will take place in the event of passage of the draft law on amendments to the Constitution on justice submitted by the President and explain the machinations of the Parliament on the draft Law on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine concerning decentralization. Also, they will tell how everyone can contribute to the constitutional process to achieve constitutional change for the benefit of citizens.

The press conference will be attended by:

Roman Kuybida, the Deputy Head of the Center for Political and Legal Reforms, chief expert of the "Judicial Reform" group of the Reanimation Reform Package;

Kateryna Davydenko, an expert on local government of the Centre for Political and Legal Reforms.
