The deadly accident occurred on Sunday, October 7, at about 23.30 near the official sign "Mukachevo" and the gas station near the exit from the city towards Uzhgorod.
As we found out at the scene, the driver of a red VAZ 21009 moving at a high speed from Mukachevo toward Uzhgorod, went into the oncoming lane and collided with a red minibus Mercedes Sprinter, which moved from Chop (Customs) and where, besides the driver, there were at least two passengers. They said that the driver of the VAZ was moving at a high speed with the headlights off. They suggested that the driver could be pursued by the police, although at the scene of the accident none of the police officials confirmed this information.
The VAZ crashed into the right side of the minibus. Its damage confirms the high speed it moved with. The driver died on the spot.
