Today there are 92.1 thousand elevators registered in the state housing stock. Number of lifts in operation for over 25 years is 42 thousand units, or 45.2% of the total number of elevators in the country buildings.
Controlling authorities during scheduled inspections suspended for indefinite term work of 3.6 thousand elevators, or 4%, of which 3 thousand elevators have not been working for more than two years. At the conclusion of experts such lifts are not repairable. Unsatisfactory conditions of elevators caused by forced shutdown of lifts are recorded in almost all regions of the country. Thus, about 10 million Ukrainians, including disabled and elderly people, are unable to use elevators or receive service for a long time – said "Ukraina Komunalna".
