On the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the Act of Unification of UPR and WUPR and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Transcarpathian region as part of the Ukrainian state, a solemn public meeting took place in Uzhgorod.
Symbolically, on Narodna Square, young people unfolded a 100-meter-long blueand yellow flag. The Honored Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir performed Shevchenko’s "Testament", while leaders of the region, diplomats and community leaders, representatives of clergy and the army laid flowers at the feet of the Great Kobzar. Then the choir performed the national anthem.
After that, to the solemn accompaniment of the Regional Philharmonic brass band, they marched to the monument to the president of Carpatho-Ukraine Augustin Voloshin, where they also laid flowers and prayed.
