September 21, Svalyava celebrates the Birth of the Holy Mother of God, which this year coincided with the 777th anniversary of the foundation of the city.
According to Svalyava City Council, festivities start at noon with the laying of flowers at the monuments to Venelin Hutsa, Tomas Masaryk, Ivan Franko, Dead soldiers in the city center and the memorial park.
Then they will officially open a memorial plaque to the known Svalyava public figure, honorary citizen of Svalyava V. Sarkanych. The epicenter of the celebration will be the main street of Svalyava where there will be the modern stage with the newest equipment to enhance audio and video projecting.
The official part will start at 14.00, where several residents will be granted the title of "Honorary Citizen of Svalyava."
The official part will be followed by the entertaining concert program with participation of pop stars from Ukraine and abroad, which will be opened with the performance of the brass band and the choir of veterans.
The host of the holiday – Honored Artist of Russia Mikhail Vashukov – will entertain guests with jokes and witty humor.
