Recently, the Nationwide festival-competition of folk dance dedicated to the Hero of Ukraine, People’s Artist of Ukraine, winner of the Shevchenko National Prize, academician, professor, head of the National Choreographic Union of Ukraine Myroslav Vantukh took place in Lviv, the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration informs.
One of the participants in the festival-competition was the dance ensemble "Kolyory Karpat" of Uzhgorod College of Culture and Arts under the direction of Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Ivan Pastelyak.
"Kolyory Karpat" won first prize in the category "Specialized schools of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine" and the artistic director Ivan Pastelyak was awarded with Myroslav Vantukh Medal "For the development and preservation of Ukrainian folk dance" – the college informs.
