Cyprus is ready to send tourist managers to Uzhgorod

Today, the Acting Mayor of Uzhgorod Igor Fartushok met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Ukraine Luis Telemachu, who is on a working trip in Transcarpathia, the PR Department of the Uzhgorod City Council informed. The diplomat was interested in the processes of decentralization, which, according to Igor Fartushok, led to increase of revenues to the city budget. They also discussed the management of solid domestic waste, which requires serious investment, which is why the city authorities are looking for support from serious international organizations, for example, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Mr. Ambassador offered a program under which managers from Cyprus would conduct training, share experiences in the development of the tourism industry. "Small Cyprus receives more than 4 million tourists a year, so the experience in this area will be beneficial," – Luis Telemachu said.
