Today, a bike ride under sakuras SakuraRide took place in Uzhgorod
The initiators – the UBC (Uzhgorod Bicycle Culture) community, which promotes bicycle culture and healthy lifestyle – organized the event not just to admire the pink flowers.
The cyclists rode the city, choosing the route close to particularly luxurious cherry tress, thus, naturally, through the "Czech" Halahov quarter. In passing, they took some pictures – respectfully observing the "rules of conduct with sakuras", never breaking or pulling down branches. On the occasion of the Days of sakura blossom in Uzhgorod, the participants decorated their bikes with pink ribbons.
In conjunction with the Movement to support Transcarpathian soldiers, the activists distributed flyers with information about the wonderful trees under the flashmob #save_sakuras. Leaving them at stations and coffee shops, they asked all Uzhgorod residents and tourists to treat the pink decoration of Uzhgorod respectfully.
The mini booklets contain information about the delicate trees: their history in Transcarpathia, features, debunked myths about the sakura, and a guide map with Uzhgorod sakura trees marked on it.
