Customs Service conducts a comprehensive inspection of “duty free” stores

State Customs Service of Ukraine conducts a comprehensive inspection of duty free shops – reported in the press service of the Ministry.

"At the request of prosecutors, Customs Service assigned a comprehensive review of existing duty-free shops," – said the press service.

The Service officials explained that prosecuting authorities found a number of irregularities in the operation of "duty free" stores. In particular, the absence of a State Property Fund approved lease agreements and cases where the lease term has expired, and the company continues its activities.

"In this regard, the prosecution made submissions on elimination of the causes and conditions that contributed to this" – informed the customs department.

As reported, the press service of the international airport "Boryspil" on their Facebook page posted the information about closing of most of the duty-free shops and catering facilities on September 1, as result of which "the passengers were left without food and essential goods, and the state suffered significant losses"
