To speed up border crossings and to avoid misunderstandings, Chop Customs informs: starting October 1st, 2013, specialists of the National Tax and Customs Office of Hungary will be checking permits for transportation of goods in enhanced mode. Carriers may transport goods through customs checkpoints for international carriage of goods, or minor customs checkpoints subject to permits.
Such principles and rules of interaction of the bodies that control border traffic, location of checkpoints on the state border, their application, mode of operation, as well as the nature of traffic are contained in the Agreement signed between Ukraine and Hungary.
Under the Agreement, international carriage of goods shall be permitted through the checkpoint "Zahony-Chop" and, if the weight of the vehicle with the goods does not exceed 7.5 tonnes, through the checkpoint "Beregsurany-Luzhanka". Vehicles carrying goods and intending to cross the Hungarian-Ukrainian border through checkpoints, which do not have the permission, will be redirected to checkpoints "Zahony-Chop" or "Beregshurany-Luzhanka."
