Drug crime police units in four regions will be the first to be reformed.
The Chief of the National Police Serhiy Knyazev said that drug crime police units will be reformed in Transcarpathian, Lviv, Kherson and Cherkasy regions.
"Four regions were currently selected – Transcarpathian, Lviv, Kherson and Cherkasy regions. The heads of territorial units should understand that this is the first step in reforming the criminal police unit, which will then be transferred to all other services. These units are not experimental. They are the first to be reformed," – Knyazev stressed.
According to him, the newly formed units will work on international operations. Therefore, taken into account various aspects, these regions were selected.
US partners are also involved in the reform. In particular, Robert Norton, United States Embassy Law Enforcement Advisor, will be actively involved in interviews with the heads and staff of these units. Source.
