COVID-19: the situation as of the morning of May 28 in Uzhgorod, Transcarpathia and Ukraine

As of the morning of May 28, 369 Uzhgorod residents have been confirmed to have COVID-19. This was reported by the health department of Uzhgorod city council and Uzhgorod city and district branch of the State Institution "Transcarpathian Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine". 

4 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the past 24 hours in Uzhgorod.

143 people have recovered  

6 persons have died.
  
19 Uzhgorod residents are hospitalized, 201 are on outpatient treatment.

22 Uzhgorod citizens are in self-isolation 

In the last 24 hours, mobile crews have made 6 visits, 38 samples of biological materials have been collected for polymerase chain reaction test. In total, since the onset of the disease, 403 visits have been made, 2096 samples of biological materials have been collected for PCR tests.

In Transcarpathia, 20 persons were diagnosed with COVID-19, 5 of them are medical workers. "During the past day, May 27, 409 people sought emergency medical care, 9 of them had symptoms of acute pneumonia, 10 were suspected of having COVID-19" – the director of the Health Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Yelizaveta Birov said.

385 samples of biological materials for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing were collected.

Overall, as of 9:00 am on May 28, 2020, 1124 patients have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of those, 2253 are health care workers and 71 are children. 10654 polymerase chain reaction tests have been carried out. 347 patients have recovered.  

No fatalities among patients with COVID-19 have been reported in the past 24 hours.

According to the Public Health Center, as of 9:00 am on May 28, there have been 22382 laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine, of which 669 were fatal, 8439 patients have recovered. During the day, 477 new cases were confirmed. Currently, coronavirus disease has been detected in:

Vinnytsia region – 947 cases;

Volyn region – 851 cases;

Dnipropetrovsk region – 920 cases;

Donetsk region – 158 cases;

Zhytomyr region – 673 cases;

Transcarpathian region – 1124 cases;

Zaporizhzhya region – 425 cases;

Ivano-Frankivsk region – 1339 cases;

Kirovohrad region – 495 cases;

Kyiv – 2793 cases;

Kyiv region – 1517 cases;

Lviv region – 1513 cases;

Luhansk region – 45 cases;

Mykolaiv region – 282 cases;

Odesa region – 861 cases;

Poltava region – 268 cases;

Rivne region – 1588 cases;

Sumy region – 166 cases;

Ternopil region – 1131 cases;

Kharkiv region – 981 cases;

Kherson region – 177 cases;

Khmelnytsky region – 386 cases;

Chernivtsi region – 3201 cases;

Cherkasy region – 401 cases;

Chernihiv region – 140 cases.

The tests were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of the morning of May 28, 2020, the Center has received 1110 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases.
