On Saturday, February 8, at 10.50, Uzhgorod city police department received from the Office of the National Bank in Transcarpathian region a fax report on detecting counterfeit hryvnia.
Transcarpathian Office of the NBU conducted the examination of the banknote, which had come from one of the banks in the region. The 20 hryvnia banknote was seized in the office of this bank on Svoboda Avenue.
The said bill, in accordance with the Examination Report dd. 05.02.2014 № 3, was recognized as counterfeit and removed from circulation. The seized banknote is stored in the NBU Office in Transcarpathian region – uzhgorod.net.ua reported referring to the Novyny Zakarpattya.
