The European Commission recommends that Schengen member states and associated Schengen countries extend restrictions on travel within the European Union until June 15, according to the MyHungary.Net.
The EU believes that the Union’s external border should serve as a safety border for all Schengen countries, and that the abolition of internal border controls should be gradual and in a coordinated manner before border controls at the external borders are lifted. In the Commission’s view, control measures at the external borders can only be effective if they are carried out in the same and coordinated manner by all EU Member States and Schengen Member States, at each border crossing point, and are abolished simultaneously in all countries.
