Contractor suggested a more effective method of road repair

The road company "PBS" suggested to repair Transcarpathian local roads in a more efficient way.

The company is preparing to repair roads of regional importance, in particular Yasinya – Chorna Tysa, Beregovo – Badalovo – Vary – Borzhava and others. The company’s specialists reviewed the terms of reference and conducted their own research at the sites. The result showed that the method requested by the commissioner is not effective enough in this situation, and this can lead to the destruction of the road in the near future.

"When taking part in the tenders in Transcarpathian region, we had suspicions that the method suggested by the commissioner was not suitable. But it was not possible to suggest a better method during the short time that remained until the time of the auction. After winning the bids for the repair of regional roads, we employed relevant institutes to conduct the research… The specialists conducted the necessary studies, which showed that the design proposed by the commissioner did not correspond to the carrying capacity of the coating," – Oleksiy Pasternak, the director of the company, says.

The company "PBS" suggested the most suitable method for repairing the roads of category 3-4. In particular, it is imperative to strengthen the foundation of the road dressing. Otherwise, the road will crumble. Moreover, the cost of this method is only 10% higher, but the result is worth it.

The commissioner reviewed the proposed method. There were no objections. Accordingly, we will help to prepare the technical documentation and immediately proceed with the road works.   The company will inform on subsequent schedule of work later on.
