An attempt to illegally move 4,000 packs of tobacco products was prevented today at midnight by border guards of the department "Solomonovo" of the Chop detachment.
During patrolling near the village of Salovka, Uzhgorod district, the border guards noticed four packages wrapped in black plastic wrap. Each of them contained 1,000 packs of tobacco products without excise duty stamps of Ukraine. They were most likely prepared to be smuggled across the state border.
Measures are currently being taken to identify the people involved in the illegal activities. The found cigarettes will be handed over to the State Tax Service.
